Day 17
Bob here.
Well here it is day 17 and Quite possibly the last day of the season. Sit right back and I'll tell you a tale of hunting poweress never before heard.
Day 17 started like many others. Up at 3:30 and off to pick up Fred. I didn't lose any sleep however because I picked him up ON THE WAY to the stellar hunting at Sauvies Island. Now before you get all pissy about the fact we almost swore off Sauvies before remember the high water situation we are dealing with here in the great Pacific Northwest.
This time we were closer in line than ever before and we rolled right up to the warden with many different blinds available. We decided on a tried and true blind in the Hunt unit, # 13. After a long and treacherous walk with heavy packs and light Italian guns we made it to the slightly flooded blind. Setting up was easy and we decided to improve the blind with a further camo job. Now all we had to do was wait for the sun to come up and the ducks to pour in.......
{ I think this is a great time to all thank Fred for setting up this blog site for all our benefits. Without people like him in the world nobody would get told where to go. Great job G! }
.......On the way home we reflected on how great this season has been and how truly blessed we are to have these great hunting expierences. Our friendship has taken us, and all the members of the HOY7 hunting team, to new and interesting places. We have met new people. (Hello Mitch you old bastard wherever you are. Keep those goddamn dogs quiet eh.) And seen places more beautiful than Camas in the fall.
All in all it was a great day and we shot a total of.......
{ Did I mention that Fred and I really appreciate comments about the blog? There's even a spot right at the bottom of the posts to put comments in. Hell, it's even free. }
.......So thanks to all and remember to stop by frequently. Just because hunting season has come to an end, the adventures never stop here at the HOY7 hunting team.
God Bless Charlton Heston.
P.S. Where the F is the motorhome, boat, quads and jeep?
